Chef Mari Jo Ramie
Chef Mari is a native of upstate New York and has lived in Charleston for the past seven years. Back home, she completed her associate's in Business and bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management. She moved to Charleston to continue her culinary career. With nineteen years of restaurant experience, Mari has been a part of seven restaurant openings in Charleston. Including Fam's Brew Pub, Pier 101, Coastal Crust on James Island, and most recently, in 2022 she was the head Chef of Gunnarmade Meal Prep. There she learned a whole new skill set on plant-based vegan meals that supported all sorts of dietary restrictions. Thanks to their widely sought-after vegan consultant, Chef Doug McNish, Mari can create nutrient-dense and allergy-safe menus that the whole party can enjoy. In 2023 Mari is working with The Honey Hive restaurant as their sous Chef. Here she is learning the world of pastries and still has the freedom to create entree specials.
Chef Mari travels all over Charleston (and even out of state!) cooking custom menus for private events. She loves that her job allows her to meet many new people and go to many exciting places. But most of all, she loves to help the families come together and ensure everyone can enjoy themselves without worrying about what's going on in the kitchen.
